Los Angeles to Grand Canyon

Friday afternoon, on the road with Linda and Jim from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
A view hours on the highway through the desert.
A little hot (Temp at Baker was 95F. Actually cool for that town this time of year).
A little unamusing and traffic jam before Las Vegas.

We arrived at Imperial Palace on the Strip (2000 Beds) very close to all casinos and bars.

In the evening we met Jims friend Jeff who's a games manager at Harrahs. He had planned on getting us into a show, but it was a black out day - each Harrahs property closes the shows one night a week to give the performers a break and it happened to be the IP's night.
So instead we walked around and caught all the outside shows - the Pirate show at Treasure Island, the Volcano at the Mirage, the Fountains at Bellagio, etc.

What I think about this town?
“Crazy, colorful, many people”. Nice to see for one ore two days.
Was a great evening and Jim and Jeff said good by.

Next morning Linda starts with me to the Grand Canyon.
Short stop at the Hoover Dam and a little piece of Route 66 in the rain.
Then the first view to the Grand Canyon. Great! Bigger and more impressive at on the pictures I saw before.
Sorry don't fit to a camera you have to to see it.

At Desert Watchtower on the South Rim we met Harry van der Laan and James Sims on a campground.
Linda transferred me to Harry and said goot by.

I enjoyed the time with Linda and Jim Pavlis very much! Nice people.
