Otp 2009
'Shiftin n Grinnin' 2009 National Rally in Fontana

Arriving in Fontana Dam I had the impression everybody knows my face. “Oh, you are the OTP-Traveler, please lets take a photo”.
Never seen so many flashlights on my face.
After the check in I meet Guy Young in the cabin which he shared with me.
Nice cabin wit air condition, whirlpool, chimney and a terrace with two rocking chairs.
In the evening the social with many Photos and some entertainment.
Here I felt the big honor to be “THE TRAVELER” Thank you all. You make it possible.
The Thursday began with a nice Breakfast. Guy makes Eggs and bacon. It was a relaxed day.
Little bit riding, sitseeng in Cherokee (wish to see Indians but there were only gift shops).
Looking at the Dam, sitting at the terrace, drinking beer and talking to the people.
I enjoyed the day for my own. In the evening we ate Murph's ice (ice for 300 People!) and I smiled into several cameras.
Several people gave me money for gas and food and bougt and brougt the beer to me.
Seems it's verry special thing to be Over The Pond Traveler.
The Wednesday was the day I looked for my bike.
I go went the Kawasaki dealer nearby (60 miles) to get a new front tire (Kawasaki payed or the new tire!). It was worn after 3500 Miles.
After I got the new one I went through the Smoky Mountains for several hours.
Dinner in the evening and some Talk about COG, GCE, the German community and the differences of this
organizations with Guy Jung.
The National Rally is very different to the German rally's. More People, only suggestion for routes,
no riding in big groups, even two socials, it's difficult to find people. In Germany we are together the whole day.
Thursday is the day to try the new C14 and the new tire.
I go to the dragon. It's a very technical road for about 15 miles.
I go up and down several times. Each time a little faster.
I enjoyed my nice bike, very strong engine, very stable in curves, easy handling like a sport-bike,
very much faster then the old c10.
I stoped racing wen the bike says “fuel low”.
After filling up gas, just in time, Thunderstorm began and I went home.
Some talk, bike presentation and a groupfoto in the front of the meeting room.
Social dinner in the evening.
