Otp 2009

Washington DC

Monday morning we met Frank again for breakfast.
I brought my luggage to his house and we headed forward to visit Washington DC.
There we met Michael Oliver, he showed us the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in only half an hours (we saw all!).
Then we took one of the DC Ducks (original WW II DUKW amphibious vehicles) for a sightseeing around the town.
White House, Washington Monument, Pentagon...
BBQ in the evening at Franks house.
Tuesday we visited DC again. Natural History Museum, Reflecting-pool, George Washington memorial...
Mark McCabe pic me up at Franks House in the evening. I was tired an decided to take the highway to his house. WE had a nice high speed run from Dale City/Woodbridge VA to Baltimore.
Mike Aldea arrived at 2 AM Wednesday morning to join Mark & I for our ride North through Maryland and Pennsylvania. The three of us spent a couple of hours getting to know each other before going to sleep and then again when we woke up.
Mike was enjoying spending time with Mark's dog.

We left Mark's house at Noon in a light rain for our ride North to Mike's home in Hawthorne, New Jersey, just outside New York City.
Mark led us over some beautiful back roads through Maryland horse country and up into Pennsylvania "Deutsch Country".
We finally stopped to eat in Lancaster, PA in the late afternoon. After we all ate we said good-bye to Mark and Mike & I got on the highway to finish our ride. The rain stopped shortly after we left Mark so it was a dry ride the rest of the way to Northern New Jersey.
Mike's wife, Vicki, had a great supper waiting when we arrived in the early evening.
